Today’s radiation is no. 17, which in my math is halfway to 35. Hooray!
So far the effects are radiation burn on my neck, especially at the base and on to the collarbones, because I hadn’t realized the field was going that far down so wasn’t putting the SPECIAL CARE CREAM on there, and sores on both sides of my tongue. These are the biggest problem because they make eating into torture. Luckily, today the JH team showed me how to use the feeding tube, and loaded me up with the necessary equipment and cans of Osmolite and although I had thought this would be a low point, instead I am completely relieved to know that I can just drink smoothies and shakes and keep my weight up with Osmolite, and my fluids up through the tube if need be, and even treat blood sugar lows that way (this has been a problem; how to treat a low if you aren’t able to take things in by mouth easily?) so, I am thinking that if the first half is down, the second half will follow. whew.
Halfway!

Yea! Halfway – whew! Krista says she used the juice from an aloe plant for radiation burn, and it worked very well.. Enjoy your 2 days off.
Halfway – that’s a very good thing. Enjoy your weekend.
Love,
Terry

Kudos on halfway!!!! That’s my kind of math. May you ring the bell soon!

Congrats on half-way through!!!
I was worried about how you would treat your lows if you were unable to take anything in by mouth. I’m so happy to hear that they have a solution for you!!

Hi Cathy – so glad this treatment is halfway over for you. I am so impressed by your wonderful attitude and general pluckiness. And having Beth by your side makes it all go much easier, I’m sure.
Vaden and I include you in our prayers every day.
I’m having technical difficulties in creating a CD – I thought it would be a snap!
