This could really be historic.

It keeps snowing and snowing. I can very happily use the “free” hours at work, since the government is closed, and there is plenty of time for napping while its white outside. The doggies thought they wanted to go for a walk, but soon decided a SHORT walk was plenty!

Can we go in, please?

The birdhouse photo is fabulous! We’ve got quite a bit of snow here, too, but nothing compared to Washington. The temperature remains below freezing, so the snow is staying around. At least Klondike loves it.
Actually, the snow has been providential, because you’ve gotten some more time at home, and you didn’t have to feel guilty at all that you didn’t get back to work just as soon as you possibly could. So, keep the fire going in the fireplace and enjoy! Love to you both, Molly

That is SO right! Because the entire government was closed, I got those days as “free” days–no need to take leave! Which has become important now that my sick leave is exhausted and I’m using up my annual (vacation) leave…which of course I’d rather use for vacation. whoopee for the snow! Our puppies like it but are overwhelmed by the sheer volume (height 3x Lucy). Anyway, there is a three day weekend for it all to become a sheet of shimmering ice, now.

We just got socked again last night, so more may be on its way. Klondike has taken to being a “snow shark” completely buried except for two very black eyes and two pointy ears. He sends joyous doggie barks to his buddies in DC.

Klondike probably can’t believe his luck, having such perfect weather ‘way down south in Bloomington! Our doggies are lightweight enough that now they can walk on top of the drifts, slipping and sliding over the mounds of sculpted snow! Lucy especially likes this–Charly falls through sometimes and isn’t as fond of it. We are supposed to have more snow today, but nothing like the last two storms.
